  1. KS3 - Key Stage 3 language students at Chestnut Grove study from a grammar based scheme of work on a range of topics.  Over the three years, students will be introduced to the past, present and future tense to enable them to achieve a level 6+ and to prepare them for studying a language at GCSE.   1. Student in years 10 and 11 continue to study from a grammar based scheme of work on a variety of topics.  Over the two years students complete their speaking and writing coursework which accounts for 60% of the final GCSE.  Students must submit 2 x speaking assessments (6 minutes) and 2 x writing assessment (200 words). These are using completed at the end of a topic.  The final 40% is completed at the end of year 11 in the exam hall. There will be one listening and one reading exam.
