At Chestnut Grove we are committed to ensuring that all students who join our community feel confident about their transition from primary to secondary school. Our Assistant Headteachers, Raising Standards Lead (Head of Year 7) and SENCO work closely with local primary schools to support all students who join Chestnut Grove in September. We run an Induction Programme that is catered to individual students' needs, as well as the needs to the cohort, to help our new students feel confident in their new learning environment.
2018 Induction Key Dates:
June 18th – June 22nd A one-to-one interview session with your child's new form tutor
This will be our first opportunity to meet you formally and get to know your child. It is also an opportunity for you to meet your child’s tutor and the Raising Standards Lead for Year 7 and to ask any questions that you may have.
July 3th or July 4th Student Induction Day
Primary schools allow your child to spend the morning at Chestnut Grove to get to know us before September and learn his or her way around the school.
July 4th, 6-7pm Year 6 Parents' and Students' Induction Evening
This will outline more about Chestnut Grove’s PROUD values and our expectations for learning. We will also explain how your child can get involved with our extra-curricular clubs programme. You will also have an opportunity to place an order for the school uniform from our suppliers, School Uniform Direct.
All information and key dates required for incoming parents can be found within our Induction Booklet, which is updated in the summer term. Please contact Ian Kemp at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any further questions.
