Head of House: Mr McGinn

Dame Barbara Hepworth DBE (10 January 1903 – 20 May 1975) is one of the most significant sculptors and artists of the 20th century. Her work drove forward Modernism and along with her contemporaries in England she helped to develop modern art (sculpture in particular) immeasurably. The scope and character of her work is highlighted by the types of places it can be found. The United Nations building in New York City, Oxford and Cambridge Universities, Winchester Cathedral and a sculpture even adorns the exterior of John Lewis in Oxford Street. We can learn a lot from art and the bold confident structures Barbara Hepworth created inspired the feelings of proud success we wish all our students to enjoy.
