JUDI DUMONT BARTER :   Chair of Local Academy Committee

Judi is a community governor whose two children have graduated from Chestnut Grove.  Judi has had various roles within social services, health and the voluntary sector.  She has a degree in Education and Psychology and is completing an MSc in Occupational Psychology (Sept 2015). She has a particular interest in leadership, change management and understanding group dynamics. Her experience within education was based on a raising aspirations project for vulnerable girls in secondary education, within the borough of Wandsworth, and as a Learning Mentor in primary settings. Judi is currently the Training and Project Co-ordinator for an Adult Education Personal Development CIC with a UK-wide remit.

Judi was originally appointed as a parent governor in 2008 by parents of CGA and then voted into office as a community governor by the Local Academy Committee.  Judi began a further 4 year term from July 2015. As Chair of the Local Academy Committee, Judi sits on all committees. 

SARAH GUERRA :   Parent LAC Member

Sarah is a parent LAC member. Her daughter is in year 9 and she hopes her younger daughter will join the academy in September. Sarah has had various roles in central government and the third sector.  She has a degree in Law.  She has a particular interest in diversity, leadership, change management and understanding group dynamics. Her professional experience is focused on improving equity in the workplace and educational outcomes. Sarah is currently the Director of Diversity and Inclusion at King’s College London, a Russell Group university which is in the top 25 internationally.  Sarah started her 4 year term earlier this year and is on the Children. Families and Community committee.


Conrad joined as a parent LAC member in summer 2017, lives locally in Balham and sits on the TLA and Resources committee. He is an experienced business leader in the entertainment and media sectors and is currently CEO of media tech start-up business Instrumental, based in Bermondsey. Conrad has a daughter at CGA and three other children in primary school (who are bound for the academy as well). He is passionate about the opportunities that digital and technological innovation can offer schools, pupils and parents to improve educational standards for all and hopes to bring that mindset into the development of the academy over the coming years. 

SARAH MARSHALL  :   Vice Chair of the LAC

Sarah is a community LAC member who lives close to Chestnut Grove.  Sarah has spent her career in finance and management consulting.  Currently she works as an equity analyst, for an asset management company, with a focus on consumer and retail investment opportunities.  She has an undergraduate degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics, and a Masters in Business Administration for which she studied and worked in the USA.  She has a particular interest in financial analysis and longer term strategic planning, as well as in bringing private sector expertise and perspectives into Chestnut Grove.   Sarah joined the governing body in February 2012, and became Chair of the Resources committee in February 2015.  She also sits on the Children, Families and Communities committee.
